Whoever finds the magic pill for weight loss, creates a pain free exercise program and turns us all into slim, athletic and happy people will make a mozza. But the reality is we should be able to do it for ourselves. We have all the information but are still tempted by stories of how easy it is to lose weight while being interminably bombarded with the latest diet, eating and exercise plan. But if it was easy we’d all be super models. Well maybe not that skinny but at least have a height/weight ratio that made us content. Instead we have an obesity crisis, diabetes is out of control and we’ve forgotten how to cook and eat to live well, while kids sit on their backsides watching telly, or playing with a plethora of devices.

Want to make a change? It’s up to you!

The no stress, no sweat, no strain concept of exercise intrigued me enough to check out the new and improved Shapemaster Clinic in Turner and listen and learn from the owner Natasha Lukinova, scientist and exercise therapist. The concept of working through a system of six shapemaster beds for five minute continuous passive motion with each targeting a section of the body to aid core strength is a system that has been around for many years and is what Lukinova found helped her through a painful time after a car accident when her spine was damaged. She finds the system works well for all kinds of needs and calls it exercise for non-exercisers in her feel good clinic where there’s complementary help with a doctor, naturopath and clinicians to advise on a range of health and well being issues.

I met clients who love the system and have found a range of benefits, many who recommend the ‘Vibrosaun’ for some bodypampering in a sauna massage machine and enjoy the low stress concept of letting the machines do the work.

I will try it out, and there’ll be an addendum to this story to let you know whether this well worn body has benefitted. But if you’re interested call the clinic for a free trial and assessment with no obligation. Ph 02 6247 6267 or check out the website , www.shapemastercanberra.com.au
