Embassy of Spain: Award PresentationShare Event on Facebook Share Event on Twitter Share Event on LinkedIn
For Spanish researcher and Associate Professor of Dermatology at Sydney University, Dr Pablo Fernandez Penas, a reception at the residence of the Embassy of Spain to present an award and acknowledge his work was of special importance not just because he’s far from home but because this was an award the current Ambassador of Spain Manuel Cacho Quesda was honoured and determined to pursue.
The reception brought together a small but very close knit community of Spanish researchers to establish the Spanish Researcher’s Association in Australia Pacific in association with those in the ACT and ensure the networks and links are maintained. They held a get together at ANU prior to the reception to discuss the research and science related activities they are currently involved in across a wide range of disciplines.
The citation and presentation was a family affair for Dr Penas, with his wife and daughters on hand to be part of the celebration and colleagues from Sydney who came to the embassy for the reception and to meet locals from the Spanish community. It was an event to acknowledge excellence from a man who is making a difference in all manner of things to do with dermatology. He’s from Spain, we’re delighted to have him working in Australia..... and that his work is international and beneficial across a wide spectrum is something good to honour and celebrate.
