Foxtel - Secret City Launch @ Parliament House

4 May 2016

If you haven’t read The Marmalade Files and The Mandarin Code by Steve Lewis and Chris Uhlmann, why not? They are a great read and a fascinating insight into this city and aspects of lives that have enough of a scintilla of believability to make you want to know who the protagonists were/are. Well authors Chris Uhlmann and Steve Lewis aren’t about to spill the beans but their close, very close encounters with those who work in the other-world confines, where the secrets of this city exist make for what Foxtel hopes will be a ripper series.

Due for release called Secret City on June 5 on their showcase channel it will be not just a showcase for the beauty of Canberra, but a source of gossip and supposition for its inhabitants. We love all the intrigue and half truths that emanate from the hill, the departments and locals with unusual jobs so to have it encapsulated in this series will deliciously add to all that scuttlebutt.

To launch the series, introduce a trio of the stars and show the enticing trailer, the Foxtel team held a ‘between budget and reply nights’ soiree in the Parliament House theatre. The stars came out with Sacha Horler, Marcus Graham and Damon Herriman snuggling up with Julie Bishop. Graham saying he plays a journalist; well there were plenty around to assess his performance but he didn’t think he was Press Gallery material.

We will be the judges. But it will be for Uhlmann and Lewis a celebration of what has been a long road to the realisation of their dream.
