Hotel Kurrajong- A New BeginningShare Event on Facebook Share Event on Twitter Share Event on LinkedIn
Called a night for the “light on the hill” to be turned on again it was a wonderful re-launch for the Hotel Kurrajong as she flung open the doors and rolled out the red carpet to welcome guests to the place where the ghost of Ben Chifley, the hotel’s most famous patron walks, the memories linger and now with the wave of a decorator’s wand and bucket loads of dollars the interior is a 21st century version of the 20th century’s 20’s.
Two ever so elegant flappers graced the foyer where a magnificent Catherine Martin – yes the better half of Baz Luhrmann – teal, black, grey and gold rug was featured with the colours picked up for the decorating details. The teal velvet animal print chairs were just the beginning of this so on trend styling.
The crowd dressed up, the PM stuck to his blue tie- please someone suggest a change - the speeches explained the acquisition and intention of the owners, the NRMA; and operators, TFE Hotels and the PM invited out Chief Minister to assist in the plaque revealing. Formalities over and thirsts were satiated with Moet and Chandon. The crowd was then ready to party as the ‘old girl’ now gorgeously gussied up sparkled with the attention.
