It’s always refreshing when you meet a ‘star’ who turns out to be normal. Well kind of normal whatever that is, but I believe it was so for Katherine Kelly Lang from the Bold and the Beautiful. Refreshingly a picture of good health from her commitment to triathlons, with none of the clouds of fake hair used in the advertising and charmingly personable especially with those dedicated fans gathered in the VIP room at Floraide to meet her and get those ubiquitous selfies she’s very keen to make available for all her fans.
Ostensibly this trip to Australia was to launch her spring/summer range from Kelly’s Kloset live on TVSN where the benefit is in the personal presentation and time available to spruik the product which from Kelly’s Kloset is Kaftans. Now I’m a little wary of the ‘K’ alliterations boring us all as the other ‘K’ family take over the world and as their selfies rule, and a frisson of fear overwhelms when you imagine that it is possible that Donald Trump could be then next President of the USA and then it could be Kanye ( Kardashian ) West. Oh no .....don’t let it happen.
But back to the pleasantries of this meet and greet with Katherine Kelly, and her charming South American partner Dominique Zoida as we nibbled on duck pancackes and prawns while sipping bubbles and ogled Katherine Kelly in a Kaftan, the models in Kaftans, fans in Kaftans and the TVSN crew in kaftans. It was just a peek at a few significant styles from the range and all can be seen on the network that never seems to sleep and must make most of its sales from insomniacs where the perpetual pleasantries from the spruikers is a wonder to behold.
The thing about a Kaftan is its versatility. It’s feminine and floaty with no need for underwear extremes to corral the extra ‘avoirdupois’ and can go from poolside to dinner and looked perfect at Floraide among the tulips on Katherine Kelly Lang. She’ll be adding one to her biking gear as she pedals to the Emmys with a convoy of friends who are like minded biking devotees. And if we doubted her enthusiasm the first thing she did after arriving in Sydney was to pedal and run for more kilometers than most of us could contemplate. The result is a lady of style and charm, fit and fabulous with a fine eye for design.
