Lusso on Bougainville Street

30 March 2017

Lusso is the Italian word for luxury. It’s evocative of all things that make us feel indulged, spoilt and special. It’s Armani, Dolce and Gabbana, Valentino in red of course and a Ferrari to match. And there it was a stunning hunk of red metal parked out the front of Lusso, the latest addition to the fashion strip on Bougainville Street in Manuka full of luxurious shoes, handbags, boots and accessories to give us yet more choice in a world where fashion indulgence is at our fingertips and a few clicks away from arriving at our front door very quickly.

But we love the touch and feel, the smell and textures of the real thing especially the opulence of the decorative and the detail you can’t get online so Lusso is going to be a mecca for ladies who shop, ladies who love fashion and with it opening on the cusp of the change in the weather it’s time to update and indulge.

The decor has been created and facilitated by Dana Tosolini of Concepts Interior Design with lots of slick shelving, creative lighting and glass doors that seem to hide secrets behind them and underfoot slabs of the white marble that are as Italian as a drive into those hills of Carrara on your way to the Cinque Terre and where Michelangelo somehow saw the makings of David amongst the rock.

To celebrate the opening with a soft launch and a little red carpet sparkle, a fashion show MC’d by Sarah Kelly showed the just out of the box kind of styles from Italy, some funky furry jackets and soft as butter leather looks  with lots of bubbly drinks and plenty of happy ladies front and centre for Lusso – Italian luxury in Manuka.
