QL2 Dance: On Course 2015

13 December 2015

‘On Course 2015’ was an eclectic mix of creativity in contemporary dance from tertiary students around Australia and New Zealand invited to work with QL2 Dance. And what a formidable range of talent they presented as choreographers and dancers bringing unique opportunities to the current family of Quantum Leapers who worked with and must have learned so much from this extended family of talent.

The initial Hot to Trot program was instigated to give alumni of this little company a place to test their full time training on the company and has now expanded to include talented tertiary students from Western Australia, (WAAPA) Victoria (VCA) New Zealand (NZSD) Adelaide (AC Arts) Queensland (QUT) NSW (UNSW) and the National Institute of Circus Arts, all making the most of the benefits of this program offered by QL2 Dance.

n just two weeks with a tight schedule what they did was extraordinary, thoughtful and entertaining. Each performance a story carefully crafted, choreographed and produced for a professional performance where the local Quantum Leapers were joined by the featured artists in a wonderful mix and mingle manner to extend the participation of them all. This opportunity will no doubt extend the collaborative aspect and provide networks over the years for them all.

This company is a Canberra treasure, training and supporting so many young dancers with the passion and enthusiasm to make the many aspects of dance their career. And this end of year project, a major production danced with enthusiasm and vitality, was another memorable showcase among the many in the QL2 Dance repertoire.
